MONDAY 5TH JAN – DR ADESOLA AKINLEYE with ALEX ‘MECHANIKOOL’ PETERS

This contemporary class invites embodied inquiry rooted in Afro-indigenous worldviews, foregrounding relational movement, breath, and presence through improvisation.

TUESDAY 6TH JAN – BEVERLEY GLEAN MBE

Beverley Glean is the Artistic Director of IRIE! dance theatre. Beverley’s African Caribbean dance fusion class will give an understanding of grounding and rhythmio sensibilities.

WEDNESDAY 7TH JAN – NII KWARTEY OWOO

Nii Kwartey is an African Dance Lecturer, Artist, and choreographer at IRIE! dance theatre. Nii’s class will teach you about African Dance Techniques and the nuances inherent in Traditional Dance Styles.

THURSDAY 8TH JAN – DR H PATTEN MBE

Dr H Patten’s work bridges heritage and contemporary diasporic expression. This class will be focusing on the exploration of Caribbean Traditional dance.

FRIDAY 9TH JAN – HOPAL ROMANS

Hopal Romans will conduct an open level class using Horton-inspired technique activities as a means of working the body somatically and developing core strength and coordination. Hopal is a lecturer and mentor on IRIE!’s MA Diasporic Dance Styles.
